Meet the Lumholtz’s Tree-Kangaroo (Dendrolagus lumholtzi), one of Australia’s most unusual marsupials — a kangaroo that lives almost entirely in the rainforests of Far North Queensland. With strong forearms and loooong tails for balance, they’re perfectly adapted for climbing through the trees. Despite their kangaroo roots, they spend most of their lives high above the forest floor, quietly feeding on leaves and fruit.
These shy guys are rarely spotted, often curled up sleeping in the branches during the day. Lumholtz’s Tree-Kangaroos are listed as Near Threatened due to habitat loss and climate pressures, making every wild sighting feel incredibly special.
For this design, I wanted to capture their soft teddy-bear face, fuzzy ears, and dreamy rainforest world in embroidery form.
This is our new Box Hoodie style, big and boxy, oversized and cosy, featuring a kangaroo pouch pocket. You can size down if you want a closer fit to the classic sweater.
