Do you know anyone who needs a little Quokka smile today? ☺️ Quokkas are referred to as “the world’s happiest animals” due to their adorable smiles. These marsupials have little fear of humans and will often be seen treating tourists to a selfie (As always, be respectful around wild animals and pls don’t feed or touch them.) Their smiles are due to the shape of their mouths and whats even cuter is when they stick out their tongues to cool off. Their name ‘Quokka’ comes from the Nyungar language. They can be found in only a few places, most famously Rottnest Island, off the coast of WA. When a Dutch explorer first saw the Quokkas there, he thought they were giant rats and in Dutch called the island “Rat Nest Island”. Like kangaroos, Quokkas have a pouch where they feed their joeys milk. A quokka’s diet is mostly grass and leaves which they like to regurgitate and eat again, obtaining all the moisture and nutrients. Mmm yum. I hope you love this Quokka Sweater and it makes you smile insanely today :)

For each Quokka sold in the pre-sale I'm donating $10 to Rewilding Australia for all the good work they do protecting our native species.
